Accounts — about a tenth of the offer
A cashbook written for a smaller authority, not a company.
Receipts and payments, VAT, bank import or typing, reconciliation, budget and budget versus actual. A guided path through the AGAR boxes. Codes you can edit. Not a general ledger built for profit and loss.
What the accounts toolkit does
- Receipts and payments as smaller authorities actually use them
- Bank reconciliation that can be shown to a meeting
- Budget, then budget versus actual
- VAT126 patterns, not only Making Tax Digital theatre
- S137 and similar flags where they help the year-end
- AGAR box guidance next to the figures, not in a separate course
A council under £200,000 can still run receipts and payments. Accruals can wait. Excel is the real incumbent; this is for clerks who are tired of an unreadable sheet compressed onto A4.
Not Scribe with a website taped on
Purpose-built council accounts packages already exist and some are excellent at the large end. Clerk Assist keeps accounts small on purpose. The year, the site and the mail sit with the cashbook so year-end is built from work already typed.
